In the calm rhythm of the Alentejo, we find the Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, deeply rooted in the past since 1338, and flourishing in 2014, drawing inspiration from the legacy of the illustrious Basilii family. This distinguished five-star hotel, located in Monforte, is a sanctuary devoted to Alentejo wine and authentic wine experiences in Portugal. With 19 rooms, each expertly decorated in a harmonious fusion of rustic and modern style, the hotel offers a unique and luxurious experience.
The winery, a testament to the winemaking tradition of the region, is a blend of modernity and tradition. Conducting hand-harvesting, the meticulous process is overseen by three dedicated oenologists, whose commitment is evident in every bottle produced. With 10-year-old vines, the quality of the grapes is paramount, reflecting a passion for viticulture.
This is a project focused on producing signature wines, such as the Arinto & Alvarinho blend, that respect the Terroir, practically handmade in small batches with minimal intervention.
At Torre de Palma, wine is at the heart of everything. From the barrel room to the tasting room, and through cultural activities that celebrate Alentejo wines, every detail invites you to dive into the region’s traditions and flavors. The winery is open for visits and tastings, and also hosts wine events with pairings of local products. Visitors can enjoy unique experiences such as a picnic among the vineyards or even create their own wine.
