One of the Algarve region's leading wine estates is in Estômbar, Lagoa's rolling hills. Founded by German entrepreneur Karl Heinz Stock, it is known for its award-winning wines and the Algarve's largest open-air art gallery. What was once a modest farm is now a thriving estate of 44 hectares, including 19 hectares of vines, a modern winery with the latest technology, several garden locations decorated with colourful sculptures in different styles, materials and sizes, and accommodation for vacation rentals or long-term stays.
Quinta dos Vales wines have three main brands: Marquês dos Vales, Dialog and Grace Vineyards, and in all cases the labels are representations of the art from the owner Karl Hein Stock, thus maintaining the link between wine and art. They have won several prizes, over 100 national and international medals and awards in the first 10 years of production and won the distinction of “Best Wine in the Algarve” 5 times.
Under their three main brands, they produce a different selection of red, white, rosé and fortified wines made from 15 grape varieties, primarily Portuguese ones.
You can visit the winery and have a premium tasting experience in their beautiful panoramic terrace overlooking endless vineyards decorated by stunning sculptures.
