Herdade do Sobroso, is a 1600 hectare property. The property lies on the banks of the Guadiana River, where the upper and lower Alentejo meet and where recently 660,000 cork trees were planted.
The Herdade do Sobroso winery is bordered by the Mendro mountain range to the north, the River Guadiana to the east and to the south, a vast plain that stretches as far as the eye can see. It is here, amongst the harmonious geography, that one can find this rich land, and it is within these surroundings that the winery is located. It is part of the DOC Vidigueira Region.
Set in a region famous for its rich gastronomy and its Convent sweets (historically old Portuguese desserts), the restaurant at Herdade do Sobroso Country House includes local produce, and many of its dishes have been awarded prizes in gastronomy competitions for several years. The property also has a boutique luxury hotel with a dozen cozy and charming rooms offering superb views of the swimming pool and the vines. Recently added is a beautiful terrace to be able to enjoy your wine tastings and lunches.
