To visit the Adega do Convento do Paraíso is to know more about the history of the Algarve, from the time of the Moors, to the Christian period, and on to the present day.
The property belongs to the Pereira Coutinho Family, descendants of the family who bought the Quinta in the 19th century, preserving the old Convent of Nª Sª do Paraíso, a 15th century building where the Capuchin friars lived, the lake and the gardens.
In 2000, the first vines were planted, followed by the recovery of the winery, which combines tradition with modernity and culminated with the launch of the first wines in 2006, today award-winning wines of excellence. Now the Quinta has 25 ha of vineyards, however only 10 ha of which are producing the 40 thousand bottles produced per year. In this Quinta you will find two excellent experiences, where you can taste authentic wines from the Algarve region.
