Quinta do Sanguinhal is one of the three estates of the Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal (Quinta das Cerejeiras is also on Wine XP), which has been involved in viticulture since 1928. The estate, with 100 ha of vines, is located in Bombarral, only 40 km from Lisbon and is currently run by the third and fourth generation of the Pereira da Fonseca family.  Their mission is to produce table wines, fortified wines, and spirits that celebrate and sustain the uniqueness of Portugal and also contribute to a better future and especially in the region they operate in.

The estate has one of the oldest ageing cellars in the Lisbon region, with 36 large old barrels made of Portuguese oak as well as Brasilian Mahogonnay, and one of the largest pressing rooms of the Iberian Peninsula, including stone lagars and wood manual winepresses dating back to 1871.

During the visit, you will see one of the largest and first distilleries built in the region, with beautiful column copper alembic stills. The visit also includes the family's 19th century gardens and vineyards and you have possibilities to also have lunch if you chose. All their experiences of course include a delicious Sanguinhal wine tasting.
