Quinta das Cerejeiras

Quinta das Cerejeiras is located, in the centre of the village of Bombarral, only 40 km from Lisbon. The property is being managed by the third and fourth generation of the Pereira da Fonseca family, being one of the three estates of the Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal, which has been dedicated to viticulture since 1928.

In this Quinta, you will find the house of the founder of the Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal, Abel Pereira da Fonseca, a house from the first half of the 20th century, designed by the architect Norte Júnior, author of the facade of the mythical café A Brasileira in Lisbon and winner of several Valmor prizes.

You also can visit the Capela Madre Deus, a 16th century chapel covered in 17th century tiles. You can also stroll through the house's labyrinth gardens. And get to know a little more about the history of this property and this family by visiting the museum which includes  a wine cellar with old large barrels and an old wine press machine and where you can find various objects used in the vineyard and winemaking process, as well as the old company office, where the wine shop now operates. You are able to have a guided visit through the property and a tasting of their delicious wines.
